Gobabeb Research and Training Centre is an internationally recognised centre for dry land training and research. It is located in Namibia in the Namib Desert, 120 km by road south-east of Walvis Bay.

The Summer Drylands Programme (SDP) is a two month research training internship offered by Gobabeb Research and Training Centre in partnership with the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DRFN). The programme has run for twenty years, hence this year's programme is SDP 20.

A brief overview of the various projects undertaken by Gobabeb in cooperation with the Finnish Embassy's Fund for Local Co-operation to benefit the local community around the Namib Sand Sea World Heritage Site in Namibia

The Youth Environmental Summit (YES) is organised and run by Gobabeb Research & Training Centre with support from the Ministry of Environment (MET) and Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The educational programme focused on familiarising 30 learners from across Namibia with the scientific process through a week of intensive fieldwork that addresses specific environmental topics whilst always promoting the overall objective of establishing environmental leadership amongst young people.
